Bad Hunting Season

I've been finding a lot of odd stuff hunting this year. Don't really know if this is the place for it. Just... weird stuff. Animals that are all ripped up but don't look like they've been eaten, just killed. But also, weird tracks that don't look right. Too big to be a wolf, and there aren't many of them left out here anyway. And other weird stuff - I shot a caribou a few weeks back. It was moving funny, it kept stumbling when it walked, but it didn't slow down at all. I don't think it even noticed us coming - and we're not the quietest bunch. When my dad's buddy Jim cut it open, its leg was all wrong. Bones were spotty with holes, and missing bit sections. It was like someone poured acid on them, but left the skin perfectly intact. Seemed all kinds of wrong so we made a report but the wildlife folks said they'd never heard of anything like that before. Maybe some sort of rare bone disease. I don't know about that though. We didn't eat it - seemed like bad meat. 

All the geese have been gone from our area too, which has never happened any summer I've lived here before. We thought we heard one once and followed it nearly two kilometers into the brush, but never saw it, and then it just stopped. It's unusual for them to not come back to these grounds. I wonder if there might be some sort of disease sweeping through the area, or something contaminating it, like a chemical leak. We're not too far from that oil company that's started drilling. Maybe there was some sort of leak. My dad things I sound batty, so I thought maybe you guys would have something to say about it, since a friend of mine said you were into this kind of conspiracy stuff. 

Worst of it all was that I found a pair of what I'm certain were human teeth, between all the dirt and rubble of the forest floor. Nothing else.
