I heard a sound last night that was seriously jarring. I was on my way home from work on the highway, and it was a late day on the job so by the time I got on the road it was getting dark, and it was nearly pitch black when I passed Glovertown. I was getting close to home (I live in Centreville) and I heard this ungodly shriek from the woods. I pulled over, probably faster than I should have since there's no shoulder on the highway out there, but I figured someone was in trouble. The sound didn't repeat, and I called out and there was no response. No missing people or violent crimes reported in the area since, but I looked it up, and apparently mountain lions are actually capable of making this sound that resembles a woman screaming. So, proof of the NL big cat? I've seen them before, but everyone online always says they look like coyotes. You guys believe in ghosts and aliens. What do you think? Is it possible that wild cats could have swam over, or been left behind by the circus when it closed?
